On Friday, 28 June 2024, the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Yogyakarta State University, held its first online workshop themed “Enjoyable Learning in the Digital Era.” The event involved elementary school teachers from five districts/municipalities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta—Gunungkidul, Bantul, Kulon Progo, Sleman, and Yogyakarta City. This activity was conducted as part of the university’s Tri Dharma responsibilities.

The workshop featured keynote speakers from the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology, FIPP UNY:

• Prof. Dr. C. Asri Budiningsih
• Prof. Dr. Sugeng Bayu Wahyono, M.Si.
• Prof. Dr. Ali Muhtadi, S.Pd., M.Pd.The session was moderated by Suyantiningsih, S.Pd., M.Ed.

The workshop lasted approximately three hours, starting at 13.30 WIB and ending at 16.00 WIB. The agenda began with a panel discussion, followed by activities in breakout rooms. The event ran smoothly, demonstrated by the participants’ enthusiasm in raising questions and engaging in discussions.

The workshop activities do not end here. The Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology has prepared an e-learning platform that elementary school teachers can access to further explore the workshop materials. In addition, the team will conduct direct monitoring in the field as teachers apply the learning activities through the e-learning platform. It is hoped that this program will help initiate elementary school teachers in developing enjoyable and engaging learning experiences in their classrooms.
