Community Service Program

The Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta carried out a Community Service Program (PPM) in Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency. The program took place on Saturday, 8 July 2023, at SD Negeri Malangan 03 from 08.00 to 13.00. The event began with opening remarks from a representative of the Sukoharjo Regency Education Office, followed by a speech from the Head of the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology. The theme of this training was “Innovative Learning that Liberates and Builds Learning Independence.”

The audience consisted of 100 elementary school teachers from across Bulu District. The first session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Anik Ghufron, M.Pd., who spoke about innovative learning to foster student independence. He explained various strategies for designing innovative learning that supports autonomous learning. The second session was presented by Dr. Deni Hardianto, M.Pd., who discussed the Merdeka Curriculum, focusing on its implementation in elementary schools. After both presentations, a question-and-answer session and an interactive discussion with teachers were held.

From 10.00 to 13.00, interactive class discussions were conducted, divided into five groups based on teachers’ interests. The topics included: strategies for developing independent learning skills; concepts and implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum; effective, efficient, and enjoyable learning with Canva integration; the use of social media to support students’ independent learning and creativity; and media literacy to support learning in the digital era. Lecturers served as speakers and facilitators in each group.
