Gredupedia: An Educational Media Exhibition for All Audiences

Students of the 2019 cohort of Educational Technology utilized their semester break by organizing an educational exhibition titled “Gredupedia.” This activity served as the final project for the Educational Technology Exhibition course. The exhibition was carried out in two modes: offline and online. The offline exhibition took place at the Yogyakarta Cultural Center (Taman Budaya Yogyakarta) from Friday to Sunday, 20–22 January 2023. It adopted the theme “The Magical World of Gredupedia,” combining concepts of education, technology, and art for Kids and Parents as well as Gen Z audiences.

The event began with remarks from the Chairperson of the Committee, Yohanes Glorify Bryan M.P.S., followed by the Head of the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology UNY, Dr. Pujiriyanto, M.Pd., and continued with remarks from the Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Cepi Safruddin Abdul Jabar, M.Pd. The symbolic opening ceremony was led by Dr. Deni Hardianto, M.Pd., who then handed over the ribbon-cutting honor to Dr. Cepi Safruddin Abdul Jabar, M.Pd., to officially mark the opening of the Gredupedia exhibition, followed by a tour of the exhibition area.

The Gredupedia exhibition showcased various educational media products and learning resources created by Educational Technology students who also served as the event committee. Several works from previous cohorts were also displayed. The exhibits included e-modules, infographics, educational games, instructional multimedia, learning videos, and short films. The exhibition also featured a series of additional activities such as an online content creator webinar, a media, education, and technology talk show, learning and educational media consultations, and a coloring competition for kindergarten and early primary school (grades 1–3) students. The exhibition attracted more than 2,000 visitors, consisting of children, teenagers, adults, and parents who enthusiastically participated in the event.

The presence of Gredupedia provided an opportunity for parents and children to learn together and discover children’s interests through the showcased works. Additionally, exhibits such as photography, posters, videos, and other learning media successfully captured the interest of teenagers and adults while maintaining educational and aesthetic value. The exhibition received numerous positive responses—both verbal and written—from children, parents, teenagers, adults, and other visitors, who expressed their appreciation and noted how much children enjoyed the displayed works and accompanying activities.
